CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Lanswood is committed to delivering positive economic, social and environmental impacts through its developments; often in partnership with local authorities, community groups and its supply chain.
Lanswood has donated just under £50,000 to local charities and community projects.
CHARITY
Lanswood’s vision is to work within four key areas; health, education, community and sport, to help raise funds and awareness that will improve lives and give opportunities to many hundreds of people. Our charitable contributions appear in a number of forms including sponsorship, donations and creating special experiences.
ENVIRONMENTAL BUILDING
The use of air source heat pumps, rather than gas boilers, significantly reduces carbon emissions. There is also the option to use electricity taken from solar power to further lower the impact.
Electric Vehicle (EV) charging points help contribute to the future infrastructure network across the country. This impacts on a local and global scale by reducing CO2 emissions protecting the planet as well as keeping the streets quiet and the air clean.
Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) provide an alternative to the direct channelling of surface water through networks of pipes and sewers to nearby watercourses by mimicking natural drainage regimes. Crucially this reduces the transport of pollution to the water environment.
ENVIRONMENTAL - PLANTING
One of our proudest environmental achievements is our planting at Chattowood introduces this sustainable concept to the public space and selected gardens around the development. By choosing plants that are adapted and proven to withstand periods of low rainfall: planting them in a nutrient low, poor yet free draining soil will enhance the areas greatly and provide a different way of thinking about planting. The plants have been chosen also with, bees, butterflies, and insects in mind, increasing the natural diversity of the area considerably. The sand and gravel mix will also provide a home for several species of solitary bee, which burrow and nest in such habitats.
LOCAL COMMUNITY
Lanswood take a long term approach to investing in places and creating communities. We frequently transform derelict sites and brownfield land to create better places for people to live and work.
Lanswood engage extensively with community representatives in the locations where they are undertaking development work to ensure a collaborative approach and a brighter future, and they will obtain a range of views on our social and environmental policies and performance as their development projects require.
